“I used to think you were hot, now I don’t know what I saw” — this opening line from Celeste Doshi’s debut single perfectly encapsulates her candid and bold storytelling style. An emerging indie-pop singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee, Celeste makes music that has been described as “the lovechild of Olivia Rodrigo and Conan Gray.” She skillfully blends vulnerability with a hint of edginess, capturing the emotional landscape of a twenty-something-year-old girl through her relatable lyrics. As an Asian-American with roots in India, the Netherlands, and the U.S., she draws inspiration from a rich tapestry of global influences, driving her to create music that fosters cross-cultural connections and unites listeners worldwide.

In July 2024, Celeste released her debut single, "I Wish I Never Met You," produced by Emmy Award-winning composer Mike Meiers. The angsty summer anthem quickly garnered over 6,000 streams within its first month and has been featured on 90.5 FM radio. It is the perfect song to scream at the top of your lungs while driving down the highway or to sing along with in your room, hairbrush in hand, as you embrace your inner pop star. The song feels like a hug from your best friend after a bad breakup and simultaneously a slap in the face to the ugly ex you were crying over; emphasis on the “slap” because Celeste does not hold back.

Celeste earned an Associate of Music Professional Degree and a Certificate in Commercial Music Production from West Valley College. She has performed at various local venues in the San Jose and Los Gatos areas. Celeste has also received artist development from renowned music publisher Judy Stakee and Grammy-considered artist Lainey Dionne. In 2022, she was handpicked for the Nashville Mastermind Songwriting Retreat and is currently participating in the 2024 Hitmakers Songwriting Intensive. As a teenager, Celeste was recognized for her early talent, receiving the Mid-Atlantic Music Teachers Guild Award for “Best Pop Vocal Performance.”

Having recently relocated to Nashville, Celeste is pursuing her music career while studying music business and songwriting at Belmont University. Celeste is currently working on her debut EP, "twentysomething," slated for release next year. This collection features unfiltered stories that explore themes of heartbreak, anxiety, and the highs and lows of young adulthood. With her second single, “sick of me,” set to be released in January 2025, Celeste is an artist to watch. Keep an eye out for her upcoming music—you won’t want to miss it!
